When Will My Child Start Losing Baby Teeth?

While every child is different, it’s normal for the baby teeth to start falling out around age six until most of the permanent teeth (minus the wisdom teeth) have come in around 13. We want to make sure their adult teeth grow in properly, which is why keeping up with their regular dental checkups is so crucial at this stage. Issues in the baby teeth can directly affect the adult teeth, both when it comes to their long-term cavity risk and alignment.

Dental Services for School-Aged Children

In addition to routine exams and cleanings, we can also proactively protect against tooth decay using dental sealants and fluoride treatments. If a cavity appears, don’t stress—we can fix it quickly with a tooth-colored filling. We may also recommend a custom mouthguard if your child is involved in sports, and if they already have crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth, we can address this using Phase 1 Orthodontics.
