Three pediatric dental team members in Portland giving thumbs up

Our team is our practice’s “secret sauce.” Each member is trained in Dr. Pike’s proven methodology for creating calm and effective dental appointments, and they are deeply passionate about our mission. Of course, you can trust them to answer all of your questions and consistently provide fast and friendly service for you, too!

To learn a little more about our Portland pediatric dental team members ahead of your initial appointment, read on below.

Katie, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Dental assistant Katie

Katie used to be a patient here, and she says that the best thing about her job is that she gets to build relationships with our patients and their families to make them comfortable in the dental setting. She has always had a passion for working with children and people with special needs, and she gets to do both here, so it's very rewarding. In addition to having her Expanded Functions certification, Katie also has experience with cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and periodontics.

Katie’s family consists of her boyfriend and two Golden Retrievers who keep her very busy. You’ll usually find them relaxing out on the water, boating, camping, or hanging out with friends.

Kayla, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Kayla says that the best part of her job is helping children work through their dental fears and seeing their confidence grow with each visit. She is certified as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and completed her education at Lower Columbia Dental Assisting Academy. With much of her experience in pediatrics, as well as being a mom herself, she brings patience and understanding to every appointment.

Originally from Castle Rock, WA, Kayla has four wonderful children, including a set of twins, who keep her life full and busy. Outside of the office, she enjoys crafts and DIY projects, like knitting blankets and making miniature clothes for her kids’ Labubu dolls. She also has a unique talent for creating miniature scale model houses!

Logan, Dental Assistant

Dental assistant Logan

Getting the chance to build relationships with her coworkers and patients makes Logan eager to come to work every day. By having this community at work, she gets to see her peers not only develop in their careers, but also throughout their lives. She completed her education by attending Rogue Community College, Multnomah University, and Warner Pacific University.

Logan is big into playing soccer, having game nights with her friends, and trying new foods whenever she can. She also has a silver kitty named Smokey Joe, and he enjoys playing fetch!

Stephanie, Dental Assistant

Stephanie joined Dr. Pike Dentistry for Children in April 2025 and is certified in Radiological Proficiency. She enjoys encouraging healthy habits and helping children feel empowered to take care of their bodies.

A Portland native, she and her fiancé of over six years have three sons and two cats, Cliff and Lily. Outside of work, Stephanie loves spending time with her kids, practicing yoga, watercolor painting, and cooking. She also mentors women to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Alison, Dental Assistant

Dental assistant Alison

Alison’s favorite part of her job is meeting and interacting with different kids every day. Each appointment is an opportunity to not only educate children about oral hygiene, but also create a safe and unique experience that will leave a positive impact on more than one aspect of their lives!

Coming from Corinth, Mississippi, Alison loves to be near the water (whether it involves boating or paddle boarding), practicing yoga, writing poetry (with one being published!), and spending time with her wonderful niece.

Lexi, Dental Assistant

For Lexi, the most rewarding part of her job is watching children grow from being nervous at their first visit to feeling empowered and brave in the dental chair. She attended Portland State University and holds an X-ray certification, which allows her to support patients and the dental team with confidence and care.

Lexi is from Oregon City and shares her home with her partner and their adorably lazy cat, Possum. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis, going on long walks, baking delicious treats, tackling paint-by-number projects, finding new concerts to attend, and spending winter weekends on the mountain. Something fun about her is that, while she considers herself an introvert, she grew up in theatre and has been in over 25 productions—an experience that later inspired her love for public speaking.

Claudia, Sterilization Technician

Sterilization technician Claudia

Working in a sterilization position at a dental office typically involves cleaning and organizing instruments, preparing sterilization equipment, and ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Through her role, Claudia knows that she plays a big part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. Before joining us, she actually taught middle school for three years in Romania!

Claudia has been married for over 20 years to Dumitru, and they have two amazingly smart, kind, and beautiful kids (a son and daughter). When she isn’t at the office, she likes to play golf with her husband, hike, and cook.

Tracey, Dental Hygienist

Dental hygienist Tracey

Tracey has been a part of the dental world for over 25 years, and she says that every day at work is an adventure with kids! She started as a dental assistant for a general practice in 1999, and in 2005, she earned her Washington State dental hygiene license with nitrous oxide, sealants, anesthetic, and restorative certifications. In 2014, she got her Oregon state dental hygiene license with all of the same certifications. Today, she completes over 40 hours of continuing education every year.

Tracey is married to an amazing husband, and they have a wonderful (and always busy) daughter. She loves to travel, go paddle boarding, and try new restaurants and foods whenever she can.

Debbi, Insurance Coordinator

Dental insurance coordinator Debbi

Debbi has had an amazing 40+ year career in dentistry, and she loves seeing children have a positive dental experience as part of our team. She began her career as a dental assistant before earning her Expanded Functions certification, and she also has her vocational certificate to teach high school students.

Debbi and her husband, Keith, have been married since 2007, and they each have two adult children, and between them, they have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren! They love to travel in their RV and take multiple trips to Mexico each year. She also likes to garden and bake, and she admits to being crazy about cats!

Edwin, Front Office Coordinator

Front office coordinator Edwin

Edwin says that the best thing about his job is having the opportunity to spend time with his lovely coworkers and patients. Building relationships with both his colleagues and the children has helped foster a supportive and collaborative environment that makes coming to work something to look forward to every day.

A Portland native, he spends his free time reading, dancing, taking care of his three dogs, learning to be a DJ, practicing yoga, and crocheting.

Jennifer, Front Office Coordinator

Jennifer loves connecting with both the kids and their parents, and she brings a welcoming presence to the front office each day. After many years as a stay-at-home mom, she decided to return to work, encouraged by her daughter who also works with Dr. Pike as a dental assistant. She is excited to be part of such a caring and supportive team.

A Portland native, Jennifer has been married to her husband for many years, and together they have a son, a daughter, and a house full of pets, including two rescue dogs, Ruby Sue and Sibby, and a rescue cat named Murphy. Outside of work, she enjoys road trips to the coast, spending time with family and friends, and always has a home renovation or decorating project underway. She also loves crafting and is currently learning embroidery. One of her special talents is transforming spaces through interior and exterior design.

Amy, Front Desk/Insurance Coordinator

Front desk and insurance coordinator Amy

Amy has had a 20+ year career in dentistry so far, and she deeply enjoys working with our wonderful staff and seeing young patients leave happy and wanting to come back to our office again!

Amy walks her dad’s dog, Dolly (who she calls her “furry sister”) almost every day, and when she isn’t hanging out with her actual sister or nephew, she likes to read, travel, and add to her angel collection.
