Meet Our Pediatric Dental Team Portland

Your Favorite Smile’s Favorite People

Our team is our practice’s “secret sauce.” Each member is trained in Dr. Pike’s proven methodology for creating calm and effective dental appointments, and they are deeply passionate about our mission. Of course, you can trust them to answer all of your questions and consistently provide fast and friendly service for you, too!

To learn a little more about them ahead of your initial appointment, read on below.

Adrian, Dental Assistant

Adrian loves getting the chance to work directly with so many different children with widely varying experiences, needs, and personalities. Being able to make a typically stressful and often anxiety-inducing experience for children as relaxing, personable, and comfortable as possible is an incredibly rewarding experience. As a child, Adrian had a lot of nerves surrounding dental procedures, and working in this practice has allowed her the chance to reduce that anxiety for today's generation of children.

When Adrian isn’t spending time with her fiancé, Theo, or their cats, Rocky and Blair, her time is taken up by one of several hobbies. On any given weekend, you’ll find her painting, drawing, making collages, learning Russian, or learning how to play guitar.

Maria, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Maria brings over 15 years of experience to our team, and she says that it’s a pleasure to work with children on the spectrum and those with other special needs, making sure they feel comfortable and have a positive experience at the dentist. She attended Portland Community College for both her dental assistant training as well as her Expanded Functions certification. She also has a license in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy.

Originally from Romania, Maria is married with an adult daughter. Outside of work, she likes to spend time with family, take trips to the beach (especially when it's sunny), hike, and cook/bake.

Katie, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Katie used to be a patient here, and she says that the best thing about her job is that she gets to build relationships with our patients and their families to make them comfortable in the dental setting. She has always had a passion for working with children and people with special needs, and she gets to do both here, so it's very rewarding. In addition to having her Expanded Functions certification, Katie also has experience with cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and periodontics.

Katie’s family consists of her boyfriend and two Golden Retrievers who keep her very busy. You’ll usually find them relaxing out on the water, boating, camping, or hanging out with friends.

Logan, Dental Assistant

Getting the chance to build relationships with her coworkers and patients makes Logan eager to come to work every day. By having this community at work, she gets to see her peers not only develop in their careers, but also throughout their lives. She completed her education by attending Rogue Community College, Multnomah University, and Warner Pacific University.

Logan is big into playing soccer, having game nights with her friends, and trying new foods whenever she can. She also has a silver kitty named Smokey Joe, and he enjoys playing fetch!

Millena, Dental Assistant

Millena says that she gets to have a lot of fun every day at work thanks to our fantastic team and patients. While attending undergrad at George Fox College, every summer she would intern at her local dental clinic where she gained valuable experience, learning how to take and pour up impressions in addition to creating athletic guards and whitening trays.

Hailing from Hawai'i, Millena likes to play tennis, cook, bake, read, and spend quality time with her friends. Her mom got her name from the word “millennium” because she was born in the year 2000!

Alison, Dental Assistant

Alison’s favorite part of her job is meeting and interacting with different kids every day. Each appointment is an opportunity to not only educate children about oral hygiene, but also create a safe and unique experience that will leave a positive impact on more than one aspect of their lives!

Coming from Corinth, Mississippi, Alison loves to be near the water (whether it involves boating or paddle boarding), practicing yoga, writing poetry (with one being published!), and spending time with her wonderful niece.

Claudia, Sterilization Technician

Working in a sterilization position at a dental office typically involves cleaning and organizing instruments, preparing sterilization equipment, and ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Through her role, Claudia knows that she plays a big part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. Before joining us, she actually taught middle school for three years in Romania!

Claudia has been married for over 20 years to Dumitru, and they have two amazingly smart, kind, and beautiful kids (a son and daughter). When she isn’t at the office, she likes to play golf with her husband, hike, and cook.

Tracey, Dental Hygienist

Tracey has been a part of the dental world for over 25 years, and she says that every day at work is an adventure with kids! She started as a dental assistant for a general practice in 1999, and in 2005, she earned her Washington State dental hygiene license with nitrous oxide, sealants, anesthetic, and restorative certifications. In 2014, she got her Oregon state dental hygiene license with all of the same certifications. Today, she completes over 40 hours of continuing education every year.

Tracey is married to an amazing husband, and they have a wonderful (and always busy) daughter. She loves to travel, go paddle boarding, and try new restaurants and foods whenever she can.

Debbi, Insurance Coordinator

Debbi has had an amazing 40+ year career in dentistry, and she loves seeing children have a positive dental experience as part of our team. She began her career as a dental assistant before earning her Expanded Functions certification, and she also has her vocational certificate to teach high school students.

Debbi and her husband, Keith, have been married since 2007, and they each have two adult children, and between them, they have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren! They love to travel in their RV and take multiple trips to Mexico each year. She also likes to garden and bake, and she admits to being crazy about cats!

Edwin, Front Office Coordinator

Edwin says that the best thing about his job is having the opportunity to spend time with his lovely coworkers and patients. Building relationships with both his colleagues and the children has helped foster a supportive and collaborative environment that makes coming to work something to look forward to every day.

A Portland native, he spends his free time reading, dancing, taking care of his three dogs, learning to be a DJ, practicing yoga, and crocheting.

Amy, Front Desk/Insurance Coordinator

Amy has had a 20+ year career in dentistry so far, and she deeply enjoys working with our wonderful staff and seeing young patients leave happy and wanting to come back to our office again!

Amy walks her dad’s dog, Dolly (who she calls her “furry sister”) almost every day, and when she isn’t hanging out with her actual sister or nephew, she likes to read, travel, and add to her angel collection.

Katie C., Front Office Patient Coordinator

Katie believes we have a great staff, and she’s grown so close with them that they feel like a second family. She is originally from Eugene and has been married since 2021. Katie and her husband like to travel, and she also likes to relax by crocheting, sewing, and cuddling with her cats (Newt and Huck). Fun fact: She knows how to play multiple instruments!
